Journal Entry 37

November 17th. Thursday.

Hey everyone. This is Michael. I know I haven't been too active lately, but I'm still around. Ray is with me right now; he wanted to leave a public message to everyone here on this account, both everyone with access to it and to everyone watching.

Hey, this is Ray. I know you all probably know me as Jordan's older brother. You probably also know that I'm a rationalist, that I look at the facts before coming to any sort of a decision.

Now, I know several people have mentioned seeing a very tall man in a suit. Abnormal proportions, tends to hide in trees. I guess the fact that this creature sounds like the infamous internet sensation of the early 2010s, Slender Man, makes me very dubious of this claim. Still, I don't doubt that any of you are in danger. I've seen this cult of masked people--- they no doubt have something to do with this.

I'm not saying they're casting any sort of magic spells or anything on you guys, but I can see the stress of that easily driving someone insane. The fear would be overwhelming. But unless you're confronted with a huge group of them, they're only human and can only hurt you as much as you can hurt them. I suggest you take some self-defense precautions and always have someone with you at all times.

Jordan, you seem to have a pension for walking to your Tuesday afternoon class alone, despite the fact that's when all the trouble with these people seems to happen. Take Mike with you--- heck, take me with you. I don't have a class at that time. Think, brother. Doing this will really help you... all of you.

One thing I can't explain yet is the buzzing noise you've all been hearing. Admittedly, I've heard it myself, but it's not driving me crazy or anything. Mike tells me it's apparently giving Rusty headaches, among other things. Some people are just more sensitive to these things, I suppose.

I'm not denying you all saw something, don't get me wrong. I'm just suggesting that there's a scientific answer to this mysterious set of circumstances. I'll do some research, and whatever else I can do to try to figure out what's going on here. Believe me, I don't like any of this and casting doubt on the proposed cause doesn't mean I care any less. I'm just as concerned as you are--- my little brother is involved. He hasn't been himself lately and I want to do whatever it takes to stop what's been happening to him, to Rusty, and to so many more.

Jordan and Rusty aren't the only students I've noticed bizarre behavior in as of late. A girl in one of my classes has been acting very much the same way that both of our guys have been. Several people on my hall have had a cough similar to Rusty's. This is by no means confined to this circle of friends. Whatever this thing is, it's spreading throughout the school. Even people like Trevor who seem to be immune may eventually be affected. I'd prefer to find out what it is before that happens.

Stay strong, all of you. Don't be afraid to ask me if you need help or support. Especially you, Jordan. If you can't confide in your own brother, who can you confide in? You used to tell me everything, so your recent secrecy is really worrisome to me. I'm here if you need anything.
