Journal Entry 47

December 7th. Wednesday.

Hello, friends. It's Michael. I know it's been a while since I last made a post, but I've been busy working on a final project with Ray, since we both have the same class. It's due tomorrow. I haven't exactly had time to post anything or keep up with much on the account. But, there's been a little break in the action and Ray is putting the finishing touches in now. Won't be long now; then I'll be done with school for the semester.

Curiously, even though those cryptics were at it quite a bit while I was gone, I haven't actually seen any of them around. Rusty's been acting like a crazy man again recently though. He really worries me sometimes, you know? I haven't always gotten on well with him but he's a good guy, one I'm glad to call a friend. Don't worry, buddy. If this "Resistance" is to be believed, the cure is on its way. And if not, hopefully being away from campus for the next month will help you.

Understandably, Jordan was in no shape to type a journal today. He looked pale and he was just planning on sleeping this afternoon. Head throbbing. He's been my friend for far longer than Rusty has been--- since 7th grade. So you can imagine how much it pains me to see him so down and ill. Don't worry, Jordan. I am, for once, confident that you'll be well again. I'm hopeful that this cure will come and will work. Keep fighting, my friend.

Rusty, I think our bold-text-typing friend has you as his main target right now, so please pay extra attention. Try to fight off this insanity that's crept its way into your head. You can't let it take you. You can't let this guy and his master take you down with them. I need you to stay strong. Jordan needs you to stay strong. All of us need you to keep your head in the game. You can do that, right? Please just try. And to Dark Heart...

Explain to me why you want us so badly. Tell us all why you're so intent on killing your enemies and giving the rest to your master. Your master is that thing, isn't it? That thing Jordan keeps seeing, and that Ray saw. It's violent and, when it's done with you, it will kill you too. There's no sense in threatening my friends or those who are trying to help us. Your time is ending soon. Say hello to your grave, because when this cure comes, your master will have nothing to do with you but destroy you. Is that what you want? You may be its favorite for now, but what about tomorrow? Can you be sure it will want you alive?

This may very well be the end of your story. And if not, then it is the end of our story. But I have confidence that it is the former, not the latter, which will happen.
